About
I work on the social history of the western medieval Mediterranean, especially the Maghrib and Islamic Spain, with a focus on law and society. I am writing a book on the development of Islamic legal institutions under the Almoravid unification of the Maghrib. I am also working on a project on the legal status and image of refugees in the medieval and early modern Mediterranean.
